Assessment in SIMS - Primary

The following webpage contains all the information you need to successfully complete the Data Entry and Returns 2011. Below you will find links to complete sets of notes for each return, alternatively you may want to use the quick reference sheets if you are familiar with the processes. Any templates you may need to import into Assessment Manager can also be found here along with individual reports from Data Services.

This year only statutory assessment returns are being collected (KS1, KS2 and EYFSP). Other assessments (NfER, QCDA and Entry and End of Nursery) can be entered into Assessment Manager for use by schools to track progress internally.

Please Note: Before performing any Assessment routines for 2011 Data Entry please make sure you have upgraded to the Spring Main Release of SIMS (7.138)

Data Services have released the annual Gold Card ( Right Click and Save Target As: ) which you can use as a Calendar for your returns, along with the Assessment Data Collection Grid: Summer 2011 (Click on the link)

Tracking Pupils using SIMS .net

The Schools Service Desk and the Schools Improvement team have worked together to adapt the Capita tracking marksheets and grids in SIMS .net to give Primary schools a comprehensive tracking system within SIMS .net.

If you currently use the Tracking grids provided by Capita (these are called CES Tracking Progress Maths Y3 for example) you may find the new templates useful as they contain updated formulas for calculating expected progress and also each mark sheet will show more past data rather than just the previous term.

If you have had an onsite assessment consultancy then the marksheets you currently use will be suited to your school and these new NottsCC will not be appropriate.
