Data Centre Modernisation Programme Planned power outage and ICT service downtime - 5th/6th February 2011
The ICT Data Centre, which hosts ICT systems, applications and services managed by Nottinghamshire County Council will be undergoing a major improvement and modernisation programme during the course of the next 18 months. This represents a major investment and will result in a more robust and resilient hosting facility.
As part of the work being carried out to achieve this, we need to extend the electricity supply which means cutting the power supply to the building, which is located at County Hall in
In order to do this safely, we need to switch off everything within the building (including the servers, generators and air conditioning systems). This will result in most ICT services hosted by NCC being unavailable.
This work will begin at 1pm on Saturday 5th February and should be finished by 11pm on Sunday 6th February. This timeframe has been selected to minimise the disruption to users of our ICT services however please accept our apologies in advance for any inconvenience that this does cause.
During this period all of the services hosted in the Data Centre will be unavailable. This includes applications and services accessed via the embc portal/Wired (such as Erica, Oracle GL and Pay reporting, Online Payroll Claims, Sales Database Payments System, VPN service) as well as the Fronter Learning Platform (from any location).
