SIMS achieves Windows 7 compatibility
Article from Capita's website:
Capita Children’s Services, the company behind SIMS, the management information system used by 21,000 schools, has announced that its products are fully compatible with Microsoft Windows 7.
“SIMS is central to many of a school’s day-to-day management and teaching processes, such as tracking pupil attendance, behaviour and achievement. It is our aim to ensure school staff can use SIMS on virtually any computer in the school, no matter which operating system they elect to use,” said Phil Neal, managing director – SIMS, Capita Children’s Services.
“Our compatibility with Windows 7 will also ensure we can take advantage of some of the new innovations within the Microsoft software to develop SIMS in the future, including using touch screen technology.”
Ray Fleming, Microsoft UK’s education marketing manager, said: “Windows 7 offers schools better encryption of data so the risk of the pupil information on teachers’ laptops getting into the wrong hands will be greatly minimised. The system will also make it easier for teachers to securely access their data remotely and we believe these features will benefit the schools that use SIMS.”
“This further demonstrates our commitment to our partnership with Microsoft,” stated Phil Neal, managing director – SIMS, Capita Children’s Services.
