SIMS Discover Rollout Plan

The SIMS Discover module - an assessment and performace analysis tool - is available to all schools now. However, to release the SIMS Discover product we first need to get all schools onto the latest SIMS upgrade product SOLUS3.

At the time of writing we are working with a couple of secondary schools to rollout out Discover, in conjunction with SOLUS3, and will continue with a secondary school rollout during the remainder of the Summer term. Those secondaries who have already expressed an interest in Discover will be the first to have it installed.

Training will commence during the autumn term and will be available to all schools, more details on the training program will be sent out shortly. The Discover product will be available to Primary schools from September, after we install SOLUS3 on all primary schools over the summer break.

As the Discover product renders complex images and animations it is graphic resource heavy and demands a minimum spec of PC to run smoothly. Capita have advised that PC's should meet the following requirments although a slightly less powerful spec may run Discover in a less than optimum way.

Computer and processor Minimum: 1.8 GHz processor or higher.
Recommended: Dual Core 3 GHz processor or higher.
Graphics Card Minimum: DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver.
Recommended: Dedicated graphics card with the latest drivers installed and not an integrated chipset.
Memory Minimum: 2GB or higher.
Recommended: 4GB or higher.
Disk space guidance Not applicable.
.NET Framework .NET Framework 4.
Operating system and software Operating System (32?bit only) — Microsoft Windows XP Pro (SP3 or above), Microsoft Windows Vista Business (SP2)
or Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (SP1, 32?bit and 64?bit.)
